SUB | Sustainable Boost presents SUB Platform

The SUB Platform is live! Together with our partners, we spent the past year working on a platform to accelerate sustainability within companies and organisations. You will find the tools to quickly gain insight into your sustainability profile, to calculate your footprint and all the knowledge about sustainability. From there, you can set goals. Together with colleagues and stakeholders, you work on your sustainability goals. And all in one place.

On 16 May 2023, the launch and celebrated the final result with all partners. You can watch the recording back on our YouTube channel.

SME!dee

The development started a year ago after we - together with Racktime Benelux, Breedweer and Outlawz The Digital Agency- via SME!dee were awarded a grant. With MKB!dee, the Ministries of Economic Affairs and Climate and Social Affairs and Employment support entrepreneurs who have a good idea to stimulate employee development in their company, sector or region. The entrepreneurs themselves trace the bottlenecks and come up with an innovative solution.

After extensively testing the platform ourselves, we met with our partners on 16 February 2023 to extensively test all components. A month later, our Boosters also helped out!

Partner Marlon Broekman, Facility Manager of Racktime Benelux

"Racktime needed to further professionalise itself in the field of sustainability, which eventually resulted in entering into a partnership with Sustainable Boost. In particular, our role was to provide feedback on the tools developed and the platform in terms of operation and look and feel, from a user perspective. Racktime therefore started working with SUB's tools such as the Barometer, Dashboard and Footprint. With these, internally and externally, we have created insight, connection and awareness regarding our sustainability."

Colleagues Jeffrey La Rooij and Marc Schokker of Breedweer were part of the test team

In March, colleagues Jeffrey and Marc helped test the SUB Platform together with the other partners. Using a roadmap, they went through all the functionalities and noted down their feedback. This ranged from the operation in general, to the layout and the value of the various functions available to the platform. After going through the roadmap and formulating individual feedback, this was all discussed in order to take the SUB Platform, in our view, to an even higher level.

Jeffrey: "I experienced testing the SUB Platform as a very fun, unique and valuable moment. I found it valuable that the help of partners was asked and I think at least a lot of feedback was given during that session that can be used to make follow-up steps. Personally, I think the SUB Platform is going to be an incredibly valuable platform because of the many different de functions. You can do as much with it and get as much out of it as you want. In addition, I think the most important thing is that the platform makes the concept of sustainability SMART and that it therefore becomes a lot more tangible. The platform can help the user and really give them something to hold on to in order to improve sustainability. This means that the platform is not only good for the user, but ultimately its output can also be valuable in communicating to the company's environment, with the ultimate goal of making entrepreneurs, organisations and governments future-proof and really contributing to a better world."

Marc: "That the platform is coming is a declared law. But what is still lacking and what adjustments are needed? We were there for that with the test day. I remember that at that time it was not very clear where to find which parts. I liked that we were involved in this process of the project - as end-users. If I notice that I as an end-user am not taken into account or listened to, I drop out. SUB does. I do see my colleagues within our organisation working with the SUB Platform. An account manager or relationship manager, for example, can use the platform for his clients to demonstrate the impact made."

Partner Tom Teeling, director Outlawz the Digital Agency

"Before the project started, I was not very concerned with sustainability because it was uncharted territory for me. I am an entrepreneur, but I didn't know exactly where to start with sustainability and I also always thought it was a lot of work. Developing the platform helped me learn more about why becoming sustainable is so important and that it can actually be quite easy. I wanted to be as Digital agency Therefore, I would love to do something in this field to be able to contribute. I think it would be really great if the platform really helps companies and organisations move forward."

"This was therefore the goal "to make sustainability accessible to everyone" in order to help companies and organisations take steps themselves, provide insight and set out actions. In your way and at your pace. The project started with different brainstorming sessions in which we took into account different target groups. For instance, you see that in many cases government-related companies are already a lot further ahead than commercial companies, especially SMEs. You also see that knowledge differs greatly per target group. SMEs and small companies in particular lag behind. It took quite a few sessions to find a good way through this. After all, it started with a number of tools that could help companies and institutions to become more sustainable. To then turn a number of tools into a platform involves quite a lot, think of business and technical issues, value creation for the user, marketing strategy, design and development, to which we did our bit."

"During the shaping of the platform, we regularly had to make choices or sharpen or change our ideas anyway. This was mainly because all parties started to understand better and better how the expertise of the different partners works. It was therefore very cool to see these different disciplines working together. After coming up with the concept and working out the designs, we started developing the platform. This has been a learning and fun process to work together so long and intimately. I think we both got to learn a lot from each other. I have already had the opportunity to bring several concepts to market and have been doing so for a long time but this project is still special because you are really part of the end result instead of doing this for a client."

"Is the platform ready? No, definitely not! The platform will always continue to evolve and be updated with new hot topics, knowledge, tools and other components to help companies and institutions become more sustainable. As a Digital Agency, we will do our utmost to make it as user-friendly as possible technically."
